Join us for an evening celebrating the release of Where the Earth Holds Secrets, a new novel by Eve Makis. Part detective story, part family saga the book is inspired by the true story of missing people in Cyprus and the author’s own family history.

Eve will share insights into transforming personal experience, family history and historical events into fiction. She’ll be joined by her Claret Press editor, Katie Isbester, for a Q&A on the journey of a novel from manuscript to publication.

Eve will be supported by two students from Nottingham Trent University reading from their own work.

Eve Makis is the author of five novels including The Spice Box Letters, shortlisted for the Jerwood Fiction Uncovered Prize and the East Midlands Book Award. She co-wrote the award-winning film Boy on the Bridge and co-authored the life writing guide The Accidental Memoir (HarperCollins). Eve is a fiction tutor on the MA Creative Writing at Nottingham Trent University.
