Queer Nottingham, now we celebrate the 90s and this century!
1 Carrington Street, Nottingham, NG1 7FH
Last year we celebrated the 60s, 70s and 80s, now we come nearly up to date, with the music, the debates, the nightlife, the law, the stars… all the razzle and dazzle, the ups and downs of queer life in Nottinghamshire in the 90s and the last two decades.
We’ll have stalls from assorted LGBT+ groups, an utterly meaningless quiz, reports from the battlefront, contributions from those who were and are there, a little comedy. And music of the period with a DJ set. Bring your dancing shoes this time!
Bar available
CJ DeBarra has interviewed the best part of 200 people to build a picture of queer life in Nottinghamshire. In February they were awarded a Rainbow Heritage Award for their work on the Nottingham Queer History Archive.
Nottingham Queer History will have a stall and encourages anyone attending to drop off items they would like to archive – photos, cuttings, leaflets, badges… whatever.
Save for direct expenses, all ticket money will be split between Nottingham LGBT+ Network and Nottingham Queer History Archive
Doors open 6.30, event starts at 7.00
