Jerusalem, with Matthew Teller in conversation

Travel writer Matthew Teller discusses the the city of Jerusalem, a city under pressure in this free, online event.

Matthew Teller is a journalist whose work regularly covers a total of thirteen countries of the Middle East. In his book Nine Quarters of Jerusalem; a new biography of the Old City he explores the lives of the Palestinians and Israelis living there,  but also brings out stories from its Indian and West African communities, its Dom Gypsies, its Islamic Sufi mystics, its Syriac and Armenian churches – all these and others whose lives are often overlooked. His writing challenges prevailing narratives and celebrates the social and cultural diversity of those surviving within the conflict.
