Join us for an evening discussion with cousins and metal detecting duo Eleanor Bruce and Lucilla Gray, better known as RomanFound, as they talk about their new book: Things We Found In The Ground by  is a charming tale about hidden treasures and our connection to the past.
Brought together during lockdown after 20 years living on different sides of the world, Ellie and Lucie started a hobby which changed their lives – metal detecting! Capturing the many weeks and months spent digging countless holes across Britain, Things We Found in the Ground is a treasure trove of their stories from their journey: about the objects they found and what they tell us about our ancestors – including bronze age axes, roman coins and unexploded WII bombs; about themselves and who they are as people; and about the power of community, as they forged connections with local villagers, fellow detectorists and history lovers along the way.
Known online as RomanFound, Ellie and Lucie have changed the face of metal detecting and brought a new generation into the hobby through their self-shot videos of digs and discoveries, which entertain over 250k followers. They’re based in Lincoln and have appeared on BBC Breakfast, This Morning and The One Show.
Their book is perfect for fans of Mudlarking and The Detectorists, and will leave you with a new-found appreciation of the world hidden beneath our feet.
