In early 1958, Bob Baldock and a college friend made their way to Cuba, where they spent five months in the Sierra Maestra with Fidel Castro’s combat unit, Movimiento 26 de Julio. While there, Bob became the only US citizen from the mainland to see action in combat with Fidel’s guerilla unit. Originally written in the 1960s, fresh from Cuba, this novel is based on those experiences.
