Mansfield Tales is a collection of ten short stories based on real events. The characters portrayed lived in a time when the Plague, outlaws and the hangman’s noose were never far away. These are people who walked the streets of Mansfield: blunt, plain-speaking John Cockle; poor, simple-minded Robin Down; young, innocent Bessie Sheppard. In Mansfield Tales they come to life once again.

Malcolm Seymour has written many articles and short stories for newspapers and magazines and has written and presented a programme on the English Civil War. His great passion is cricket, which formed the backdrop to his crime novel Test Case.
