A second book of poems which explores the author’s love of both non-league football and travel around the ‘hinterlands’, the less well-known places where the game is played. The poems are vignettes of his experience during the 2019-20 season which finished early due to the pandemic – he writes:
I recall my last game attended of that forgotten season at Belper Town
and a feeling of a storm coming. Social distancing, clean hands
and with face masks to come, the games ended and
there was a feeling of loss.
