Time and Tide Reading Group (online)
Book your place soon! only 14 available!
This one-off reading group will explore the present-day relevance of interwar feminist magazine Time and Tide. Our focus will be the Time and Tide Souvenir Edition, which showcases edited highlights from this remarkable publication.
From the Souvenir Edition, we invite you to pick an item that interests or resonates with you in some way, and come prepared to discuss this with the group. Does “The Six Point Group” make you think of some of the challenges faced by feminism today? Does “Hospitality for Jewish Refugees” bring to mind the current refugee crisis? Does “A Rainbow Procession” make you recall the protests that have taken place this year? We’re looking forward to hearing what you think!
The Time and Tide Souvenir Edition is available to buy in print format from Five Leaves bookshop, or as a free downloadable PDF.
To learn more about Time and Tide, visit the website, one of the other outputs from a project that celebrates the magazine’s centenary.
If you would like to select an item for discussion (there will be a maximum of six) please register and check the event listing (which will be updated with items already selected), then email events@fiveleaves.co.uk with the title of the item. You’ll get up to two minutes to talk about the item and why it interests you before the group discusses it.
Unlike other Five Leaves events, this won’t be recorded/uploaded to YouTube.
Free, register via Eventbrite.
