Poetry Series: The Poetry of Sex, with Jane Bluett, Richard Goodson and Gregory Woods

In the second of our poetry series events, we will be joined by Jane Bluett, Richard Goodson and Gregory Woods. Their readings will include poems from the collection The Poetry of Sex (Penguin, 2014).

Jane Bluett lives and works in Nottingham. She teaches English and Creative Writing at Bilborough College. Her poetry has appeared in numerous publications, most recently in ‘Sweet Breast and Acid Tongue: Poems inspired by William Shakespeare’ (Like This Press). As a founding member of Nottingham’s DIY Poets, she has read her poetry in many locations in the city, but never in a bookshop.

Richard Goodson been teaching English to refugees and migrants for the past 17 years. He runs Nottingham Stanza, a poetry reading group and also facilitates the poetry workshop at Nottingham Writers’ Studio. Richard is also the co-director of Word Jam, an intercultural and multilingual poetry and performance collective, which was set up specifically to support poets who are new to the UK, and from non-English speaking backgrounds.

Gregory Woods is the author of five poetry collections with Carcanet Press, the latest being An Ordinary Dog; and a chapbook, Very Soon I Shall Know, with Shoestring Press. His website is www.gregorywoods.co.uk
