Wednesday, 8th July, 2015
7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Five Leaves Bookshop*
14a Long Row, Nottingham, NG1 2DH
McMillan YorkshireFive Leaves Bookshop is delighted to host  the poet, journalist and broadcaster Ian McMillan, who will be talking about his latest book Neither Nowt Nor Summat: In Search of the Meaning of Yorkshire (Ebury press).

To try to understand Yorkshire, Ian embarks on a journey of discovery around the county, starting in the village he’s lived in his entire life. With contributions from the Cudworth Probus Club, a kazoo playing train guard, Mad Geoff the barber and four Saddleworth council workers looking for a mattress, Ian tries to discover what lies at the heart of Britain’s most distinct county and its people. Is the Yorkshire Pudding worthy of becoming a UNESCO Intangible Heritage Site? Is Harrogate really, really, in Yorkshire? And, of course, who knocks up the knocker up?

Tickets cost £15 in advance, which includes a copy of Neither Nowt Nor Summat: In Search of the Meaning of Yorkshire (normal price £16.99) and a glass of wine; or £18 for two, which includes one copy of the book and two glasses of wine.
Note – this event must be booked in advance. Tickets limited to forty people.
