 Melisa JTImmediately following the tragic death of a young girl on a small street in Stoke-on-Trent, all her neighbours experience the same musical hallucination. This is the story of that strange hallucination, and its aftermath as a family slowly disintegrates in the wake of a terrible loss.

Jonathan and Maria Taylor are authors, lecturers, critics and parents of twins. Jonathan’s books include the novels Entertaining Strangers,  the memoir Take Me Home (Granta, 2007) and Melissa.

Jonathan is Lecturer in Creative Writing at the University of Leicester and Maria lectures in Creative Writing at De Montfort University.

melanchriniMaria’s poetry collection  Melanchrini (Nine Arches Press, 2012),  was shortlisted for the Michael Murphy Award  and has a pamphlet forthcoming in 2016 from Happenstance Press.

The evening will include readings from both authors, and the official Nottingham launch of Jonathan’s new novel, Melissa (Salt, Autumn 2015).

Admission for this event is £3 and refreshments will be available.
