Five Leaves Bookshop*
14a Long Row, Nottingham, NG1 2DH

Requiem Rwanda copyAmerican Poet and academic  Laura Apol is the author of the powerful poetry collection Requiem, Rwanda.

Laura will be reading from this collection and  in conversation about  the time she has spent in Rwanda, where she led workshops using writing to facilitate healing among genocide survivors.

The poems are also accounts of Laura’s relationships with and understandings of people post-genocide—where their stories go, how they re-enter their lives, and how a country that has been deeply wounded by its history continues on.
