Knowledge is Power – a creative writing workshop – FULLY BOOKED

Join The Writer Highway, Five Leaves Bookshop and the University of Nottingham’s Manuscripts and Special Collections department for a day of creative writing inspired by the history of the University’s adult education department. The Weston Gallery at the University’s Lakeside Arts Centre is currently hosting an exhibition entitled “Knowledge is Power”, which includes documents, photographs and objects showing how adult education was instrumental in empowering working-class people last century.
The day will be led by Cathy Grindrod (The Writer Highway), Pippa Hennessy (Five Leaves) and Rebecca Moore (Manuscripts and Special Collections). You’ll do lots of writing inspired by the current exhibition in the Weston Gallery, and also:
- take a guided tour of the exhibition
- access related artefacts to inspire your writing
- hear short readings from local writers Rosie Garner and Rowena Edlin-White
- share your work with the group
- have the opportunity for your writing to be published on the exhibition’s website
