In her new book Threads: from the refugee crisis the combines eyewitness reportage with the medium of comic-book storytelling in calling for the compassionate treatment of refugees. She tells the stories of the refugees she met in Calais and elsewhere, drawing out the fears of war, terrorism and “the other” that have overwhelmed the world.
