To celebrate the publication of Harper Lee’s novel Go Set a Watchman, the prequel of To Kill a Mocking Bird, Sharon Monteith and Katie Hamilton will be speaking about then the impact and representation of the US South on Harper Lee’s writing.

Sharon Monteith is Professor of American Studies at the University of Nottingham where she researches the US South in cultural history, film, media and contemporary fiction.
Katie Hamilton is an American Studies PhD Candidate at the University of Nottingham. She researches representations of pregnancy in the literature of the US South.

 

Copies of Go Tell the Watchman will be available from Five Leaves for £12 (retail £18.99) from 14th July. Copies can be reserved in advance.
