It has to be said that The Collector is not the cheeriest of books… a man captures a woman, and the book is written from the point of view of the captor and the captive.  It’s claustrophobic.

When he wins the pools he buys a remote Sussex house and calmly abducts Miranda, believing she will grow to love him in time. Five Leaves’ book group is open to all, and you can come just for the book under discussion, from time to time, or every time. We usually meet in the last week of the month, not always on the same day. All we ask is you read the book under discussion. You can obtain the book however you like (libraries are good…) but in the lead up to that event our book group books are discounted by 15%.

There’s a short introduction by a member of the staff or a customer, then a free for all!
