Deirdre will go through the career of the Irish poet who moved from pre-Raphaelite/Celtic Twilight mysticism to work with the Abbey Theatre in Dublin. A Nationalist from the Protestant Ascendancy he was not involved in the 1916 rising, though wrote about it later. In 1923 Yeats won the Nobel Prize for Literature before becoming an elder statesman of Irish politics and culture.
