Dandelions midsummer poetry reading, with Becky Cullen
14a Long Row, Nottingham, NG12DH
Sorry it’s not on the actual midsummer, but we had an earlier booking!
Dandelions normally meets in the Sir John Borlace Warren pub, but twice a year they put on their tux and frocks for a more sophisticated evening, with fine wine rather than pints and pork scratchings. Or at least some fruit juice served in ill-matched glasses.
As usual the Dandelions evening will have a friendly and supportive poetry open mic. If you’d like to book a slot for the evening, please email: dandelionspoetry@gmail.com
Guest poet is Becky Cullen.
Becky Cullen’s poems explore what it’s like when you don’t know when you are. Combining observation and recollection, she writes glimpses of different places and times, scenes and people seen through doors which have been left ajar. With a CV stretching from waitress to waffler, she has a PhD from Nottingham Trent in Creative and Critical Writing and was the second poet-in-residence at Newstead Abbey. She presents Notts TV Book Club and runs WRAP – a creative writing and reading extracurricular programme for all NTU students. She is never more than 6 metres from a book.
