Peter Mortimer was taught by Stanley Middleton and went on to be a full time writer in the North East, best known for his extreme travel books. Here he will be talking about the new reprint of his Made in Nottingham — a memoir of his visit back to Sherwood, staying with strangers on the Estate, finding out what has changed and whether you really can go back. John Lucas and David Belbin will be discussing two of Nottingham’s finest writers, Stanley Middleton (the only Nottingham writer to have won the Booker Prize) and Philip Callow, whose Hosannah Man portrays a long lost Nottingham of autodidacts in the 1950s.
