Who says autistic people can’t be creative? Since when do people with ADHD struggle to write?

Writing East Midlands’ Beyond the Spectrum has been disproving these misconceptions since 2021, through online workshops and live performances, building a community of supportive and highly creative writers in the process. At this workshop, aimed at neuro-divergent adults, you can find out what makes Beyond the Spectrum so special.

You’ll work with Pippa Hennessy, an experienced autistic writing workshop facilitator in a group of like-minded people to create and perfect a poem reflecting your own voice and your own experiences. Best of all, it’ll be fun!  Pippa Hennessy also works for Five Leaves Publications and First Story.

And if you wish, you can read what you’ve written at the public performance that follows this workshop. You’ll be given hints and tips on how best to perform, and you’ll have time to practise.

Workshop: £6, 1.00pm-3.00pm

Reading: £3.00 (free to those attending the earlier workshop), 4.45-6.30

Suitable for adults (16+). Booking advised. Booking only via http://www.inspireculture.org.uk/beyondthespectrum – not Five Leaves!
