Halloween (Samhain) has been claimed for an Irish invention, exported to America and returned to these islands in a different form! It was a trace of Ireland’s pagan past. Deirdre O’Byrne will be exploring Irish traditions around Halloween with a retelling of myths and legends, and readings from Irish novels where Halloween works its way in. And we’ll have some Barm Brack, Irish Halloween bread.
In association with Nottingham Irish Studies Group
